Posting on Social Media – Post All at Once

When you have multiple social media accounts, posting content on each of them one by one can be time-consuming. It can also be a pretty repetitive process and not all that fun. The good news is that you don’t have to do it. Here’s how to post on social media at once to save time and distribute your content more easily.

Good to Know

Posting on all social networks at once used to be easier in the past than it is now. In recent years, Facebook and Twitter have made it harder for third-party apps to streamline this process. The reason for this is tighter security regulations, many of which have emerged in the light of security breaches in which users’ data had been harvested. Still, there are workarounds for posting on social media.

Posting on Social Media – Option #1

Use a Social Media Management Platform

posting-on-social-media-platformsProbably the easiest way to get your content published across social media is by using a social media management tool. However, not all social media managers can circumvent Facebook’s and Twitter’s restrictions. Buffer can.

With a free Buffer account, you can post on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter all at once. To do this, you need to already have Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter pages. The platform also supports other networks like LinkedIn and Pinterest, but to post on all of them, you need to upgrade to a paid plan.

Within the Buffer app, you can choose where you want your content to be posted and customize the text and content for different platforms. You can then share the content immediately or schedule it for later.
The app automatically posts to Twitter and then gives you the option to choose between posting to your Instagram Story or Feed. Choose “Post” and then do the same for Facebook.

Another social media manager app that can schedule posts across platforms is Hootsuite. However, the free version limits your ability to post on Facebook, so you may have to get a paid subscription to schedule your content on that network.

CoSchedule and Sprout Social offer a similar feature. Any of these can be useful if you want to be able not just to post on all networks at once, but schedule your posts, monitor your social media activity, and manage all your social accounts in one network.

These tools automate your social media experience, saving you time and energy which you can invest in interacting more with your audience.

Posting on Social Media – Option #2

Try If This, Then That (IFTTT)

For each applet, you can set triggers and configure the action type. For example, you can use IFTTT to automatically post on other social media networks once you post on Facebook. IFTTT is free for personal use. Otherwise, you may want to try a business plan.

Posting on Social Media – Option #3

Use Instagram’s Cross Sharing Feature

posting-on-social-media-cross-sharingInstagram lets you share your post on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. You can do this when adding the caption to your Instagram post in the mobile app. You can choose the networks where you want to cross-share, so you don’t have to publish on all three if you’d rather not.

If Instagram is your main social media network, you can use this cross-sharing feature built into the platform without having to use a content management platform. But it may take a bit more time.

Posting on Social Media – The Bottom Line

Whether you opt for a social media management tool, IFTTT, or cross-post through Instagram, you can save a lot of time by posting on all social media at once. Depending on the method you choose, you may have to spend some time getting used to the platform or tool you choose. But in the long run, you can save a lot of time this way.
